question about Ski Boot flex?

I was looking at getting new boots (dalbello krypton rampage) but my coach said that they had too high of a flex rating. The flex was 80. I weigh 125 lbs and am 5'9. Should I try and find boots with a flex index of lower or does it not matter

While weight and size plays a role in it, another factor is how strong of a skier you are - do you have the muscle and technique to force a stiffer boot to respond how you want it to? Apparently your coach thinks so, and since he's the one that is on the slopes with you day in and out, I'd listen to what he has to say. Since you're looking at new boots, ask your coach for the name of a good shop and boot fitter. Then head there and see what that person recommends.
