Ear Warmer Jersey

Why don't my rabbits like me?
I just got two jersey wooly sisters a few weeks ago and they are now about 13 weeks old. I read that you're supposed to let them come up to you so I did that and, while they do come up now and then, they just run away if I try to pet them at all. I thought maybe I should just hold them, even if they don't like it at first, because they're new and young, and sooner or later, they won't be so scared. But then again, I don't want to torture them. And when I do hold them they never purr or rub their chin or anything, they just sit with their ears back, shaking. Either that or they try to get away. They like their toys and they'll jump and dance if I let them run around my room, but that seems to be the only time their truly happy. I feel like they don't actually like ME, just the things I provide for them. Am I doing something wrong or does it just take time and eventually they'll warm up to me?
They should eventually warm up to you. It takes a lot of time and you have to be patient. Lay flat on the floor and let them sniff you, but don't try to pet them. Just lay there for as long as you can stand it, and don't pet them. Do this a few times, then put your hand and set it on the floor. Don't try to pet them or anything, just set your hand out so they see it. Do this a few times. They put your hand in the air, around the height you would reach to pet them. Just lay there with your hand up. Do this a few times. Then, finally, just lay there with your hand up in the air. Let them come over and sniff you, then slowly, very, very slowly, reach down to pet them. If they run away, put your hand back in the air and let them sniff it, then try again. If they are scared of you when you reach in their cage, reach your hand in half way, and leave it there. Have a treat in your hand. Keep doing this, then start moving your hand in the cage. Then finally try to pet them. Some rabbits don't "purr" or rub their chin when you hold them, it just depends on the rabbit. You are doing everything right, so just follow my advice and they should be your best friends in no time
I hope this helps and good luck!
