Identifying Prepositions.?
Baseball is called the national PASTtime in the USA. Basiball IS a game played WITH a bat and a ball BY two teams OF players ON a wedge-shaped field WITH a diamond shaped IN-field. One team the offense tries TO score the most runs by having their players circle the bases BEFORE they are put OUT by the other teams.The defensive teams is helped IN stopping the offensive team by fielding batted balls WITH an OVERsized glove, or mitt.
Each inning is divided INTO a top and bottom. The visiting team always bats firsts (the top) and the home team always bats last(the bottom). The major confrontation of the game centters ON the pitcher and the batter. If the batter swings AT the ball and fails to hit it , or if the pitcher throws the ball into the strike zone(BETWEEN the knees and the chest of the batter) WITHOUT the batter swiming AT the ball , a strike is called.
There is supposde to be 20 prepositions?? Which ones did I miss??
OK. "Pastime" is a noun. "Is" is a verb. "to score" is a verb
"oversized" is an adjective.
Prepositions are: IN, WITH, BY, OF ON, WITH , BEFORE, OUT, BY(again) IN, BY (again) WITH (again) FIRST, LAST, ON (again) AT, INTO, BETWEEN, WITHOUT, AT(again)
