i was wondering i am getting a replacement lense for my goggles and i need to know if the VR28 Black Iridium is mirrored. On Oakley's site it appears to be mirrored, but on others it is not. Can you please describe the physical appearence of the VR28 Black Iridium Oakley A-Frame Replacement Lense.
Anything they list as "iridium" is mirrored to varying degrees. Generally speaking, the lower the light transmission percentage the stronger the mirror, and most of the polarized versions tend to be stronger (though they tend to have lower transmissions anyway).
Most of the mirrors don't really become apparent until the glasses are on someone's face and the light is blocked on that side.
The VR28 Black Iridium has a mirror, but there's 18% transmission which is fairly high. (For the A-frame version, it actually lists as 28%.) The polarized version of that lens has 10% transmission, and tends to be a pretty good mirror -- I don't see it for the A frame, however.
For the A frame, the strongest mirrors would likely be the fire iridium (16%), black iridium (18%), gold iridium (20%), and then the VR28 black iridium (28%). There are other iridium lenses above that, but at least in my own experience, they're likely to start hitting a range where the mirror can be weak under some angles and lighting conditions, etc.
