This may seem like a silly question, but I really don't know the answer! I recently bought a roll of Dita Chamois grip tape, and took off the old grip which came with the stick and put on the new one, but after playing around with it, I found that it really vibrated when I simply hit the ball. Was I supposed to leave the old grip on and simply put the new grip around it, or do I just need to get more used to the grip? If I was supposed to leave it on, will putting the same grip again on over it fix it? Any help would really be appreciated because I'm not keen on buying a new stick because of the grip! Thanks!
You should have left the original tape on. Normally you put the chamois tape on to get a better grip in "wet" conditions but also to not have a problem with sweaty hands. The original tape / grip is there to counter the vibrations. If you still have a problem with the vibration you should try a tennis racket grip. Those are usually a bit thicker. By the way, i personally use about two chamois grips in a season (dutch national hockey league) due to wear. I don't no where you play, but colder conditions and a stiffer stick give more vibrations. The advise is to put the old grip back on and the chamois grip over it.
