is hockey tape necessary?
do i need to tape the blade of my stick for ice hockey? and what about for road hockey?
also, do i need shin pad tape? i have jock shorts with the 2 velcro things, do i need a girdle thing to hold the socks up if i have those?
1) I highly suggest you tape your stick for ice hockey, as the tape gives better friction for the puck, helping it to stay on the stick.
2) I would not use stick tape for road hockey, as the tape increases the friction with the road and makes it much more difficult to shoot the ball.
3) Shin pad tape is all personal preference. Some use it and others don't, only really needed if your socks seem to be sliding down while playing.
4) The girdle thing, or cup with straps thingy, helps keep the socks up better. If you don't have a girdle, I would then suggest using the shin pad tape to help keeps the socks up, as the velcro ones sometimes comes loose.
