LAKE PLACID - A Lake Placid man was arrested Thursday on allegations that he had sex more than once with a 13-year-old girl, which led to her getting pregnant.
Pedro Valladares Martinez, 27, of Sudburry Drive, Lake Placid, was charged with lewd and lascivious acts on a victim 12 to 16 years of age
He remained in the Highlands County Jail Friday under a $50,000 bond.
Law enforcement was alerted about the two after Highlands County Courthouse employees called and said the girl's family was trying to get a marriage license for her and Martinez, according to the Lake Placid Police Department.
"Interviews with the suspect and the victim found that sex occurred more than once at the victim's residence in Lake Placid, and resulted in the victim becoming pregnant," according to a press release.
Lake Placid Police Office Eddie San Miguel investigated the case and made the arrest

I know an Hispanic girl who was born in the USA and she has 4 kids and her husband is an illegal alien who got her pregnant. Her kids are age 3, 5, 9, and 12. Guess how old the mother is now? 24 years old! Her husband is 45 years old and has no job because he doesn't have papers. So guess what? She claims on her taxes that she is a single mother of 4 kids. In return, the government believes she is a "poor" single mother with FOUR mouths to feed. So they give her food stamps, free lunches, free medical care, hell they even have a free pass to enter the community pool (which only costs $3). On top of that she gets over $9,000 a year back in taxes. She works at a plant getting paid $20 an hour and she doesn't even cash her pay checks, she just uses her free money from the government and obviously her husband gets that money too.
It actually makes me sick to my stomach. God only knows how many more are out there like her!
Hey Karma - I oppose welfare entirely. But I would rather see it go to an American citizen with four kids who doesn't lie that she is single so she can reap the benefits than a lazy illegal who lives off his underage wife who not only has a good job but still abuses the system on MY DIME!
