Im 5'5 and about 125lbs The fitting guides all say im a SR small and i got one and the length is right but the shoulders of the pads seam too big no matter if its a senior small or an INT large and the arms seam a little big. The other goalie is the same size as me and he has the same one in a SR medium and his fits fine but mine looks stupid and too big. He says that i just need to break it in and it will eventually fit. Is he right or any other suggestions ?
From my personal experience, a chest protector was the hardest piece of equipment to break in. I was wearing a fifteen year old chest protector for a majority of my high school career, and the new one I got took all summer to break in.
My suggestion would be to wear one you're more comfortable with for games and such and wear your new one at practice until you're comfortable enough in it to use it regularly. As cheesy as it sounds, you could also try sleeping in the new one to get it to fit better to your body.
