Under Helmet Motorcycle

best hairstyle for men for under a motorcycle helmet?
I have a bit of a complex situation here. I know pretty much bald is the answer, but I do NOT want to go bald (or anything short like crew cut) because my small head looks weird without hair. My head needs at least an inch of hair!! Hats and caps aren't what I want either. Currently, I have spikey hair kinda like a fauxhawk, and obviously that doesn't work out. My hair is soft, thick and straight.
Q1:
What's the best and most practical short/medium hairstyle for going under a helmet that doesn't require gel or hairspray?
Q2:
I was looking at chace crawford's hair.. do you think his hair would be the same after wearing a helmet for 5hrs?
A1: A crew cut usually has an inch of hair at least where it has the most impact at the short pompadour front that serves as the top outer frame for the face. A crew cut is not a butch- a very short style that perfectly contours to the skull shape. The short pomp(pompadour) styles-crew cut, ivy league(long crew cut), flat top crew cut- are good styles for under a helmet whether the helmet is for a motorcycle, football, lacrosse, hockey or hurling; not only because the hair can be easily rearranged when the helmet is removed but also because the short hair allows ready air circulation and allows sweat to evaporate, and a good barber can design a short pomp style to fully suit almost any young guy's head shape, face and neck shape, frontal hairline and facial features. A medium crew cut is usually anywhere from about 1" to 1.3" at the center of the front hairline with the hair on top graduated shorter to maybe 3/8" at the back of the crown. An ivy league is about 1.5" at the front hairline, graduated shorter in length, to about 5/8" at the back of the crown. If a crew cut or ivy league is groomed with control wax. All one needs to do when removing a helmet is push/brush the hair back off the forehead to form the short pomp(pompadour) front. One of the small flat oval pocket brushes that one finger fits through and barbers sell for about a dollar work well.

Some barbers describe an ivy league as a crew cut just long enough to be parted and combed to the side, if so desired. An ivy league can also be worn with the hair brushed up off the forehead to form a short pomp front, or with the short bangs brushed down on the forehead like a forward brush cut.

Grooming any of the short pomp(pompadour) styles- crew cut, ivy league, flat top crew cut- is basically the same and takes about a minute or two.
1) Towel dry hair.
2) Barely dip fingertips in jar of wax.
3)Transfer wax to palms.
4) Smooth palms over hair.
5)Brush hair off forehead to form short pomp front.
Whichever style you decide on, be sure to take a photo to help describe the desired haircut to the barber. If you need more photos of any of the styles discussed above let me know.
Good Luck!
