I went to the mall today, had to buy my son some gloves for winter. We went to the mall, couldn't get a parking spot, had to go across the street to park. We wanted to have lunch, and had to wait 45 min for a table. The store clerks were not "needy" like they didn't have any sales, they were VERY busy. ALL STORES. My husband went to Play It Again Sports and he said just in the few minutes he was there about 45 sets of skis went out the door from new purchases. He was there for hockey skates.
We are in health care, our business is good. But we thought people were hurting out there. We live in Madison WI. Homes still seem to be selling, people are DEFINITELY shopping, and everyone seems busy trying to "get new stuff".
We have recently bought emergency equipment, diversified our investments, and stopped spending too much and save more for "whatever" will happen. What do you think will happen? Why are so many people spending so much?
